The Blog

I teach people to connect.

What exactly does that mean? For starters, it means I created this website for you in the hope that you can find something useful here.

A big part of that is teaching people how to use social media to build loyalty, find opportunities, and understand their audience. It’s also about analyzing trends and hunting for innovation so I can share anything useful with my community. You.

I blog, I tweet, I train, and I consult. So dive in! Ask me what I can do for you.

My Interests

I get fired up about social media and its ability to connect people and spark new ideas and partnerships.
I believe in entrepreneurs and small businesses who use their strengths to carve out a way to serve a need.
I believe in the energy and enthusiasm of Gen-Y and I love seeing someone reaching for their potential.
I support an education system that teaches our kids to think outside the box.
I believe the arts are integral to a rich and thriving community that attracts the best minds.

My Story

I was raised to be charitable and volunteer wherever possible, but the real clincher to find a career in social good came in 2010 when I interviewed for the CEO position of a local nonprofit. I didn’t get the job, but it made me think hard about what I had to offer. Sure, I have a degree from Stanford University, but what else? What were my unique talents? What need could I fill? Then it hit me: social media.

So I started blogging and cultivating that talent. I also enrolled in the Nonprofit Management certificate program at the ASU Lodestar Center and suddenly wanted to do everything at once from fundraising to board development, but it all boils down to making connections. Now that’s what I do.

My Mission

To empower leaders to take advantage of emerging technologies and trends to connect with their communities and become more productive and efficient in their missions:
